South Africa – An Adventure Paradise

May 29th, 2011

There aren’t many countries that have offer as much adventure opportunities as South Africa and it’s not all safaris and animals. Plus, you don’t have to travel around the far-flung corners of this vast country to enjoy them as Cape Town and the Western Cape are packed with fun and excitement – www.tourismcapetown.co.za.

Beautiful coastlines are great for water sports and chilling out – try the West Coast towards Yzerfontein – and Cape Town itself has the stunning Table Mountain and Cape Peninsula to explore on foot and two wheels.

Table Mountain is where you’ll find the highest commercial abseil in the world; at 112 metres high, your nerve will be tested as you step over the edge. The Bloukrans Bridge bungee jump on the Garden Route is the world highest commercial jump with a 216 metre drop. The café is where you’ll find people summoning the nerve or recovering from the high.

And there’s plenty more where that came from. So if you find yourself with a taste for great heights and stunning views, you’ll have plenty to keep you busy. Rock climbing is one such pass time. The Western Cape is great for rock climbing, too, as well as being a base for sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing, kiteboarding and the over-rated diving with sharks. In fact, name just about any adventure activity and you’ll find in the Western Cape with outstanding food and drink to relax with every night.

With no significant time difference, there’s no danger of wasting time with jetlag so it’s off the plane and into the action.
